Matt and Rebecca welcomed me into their home in December for their engagement session. When we first spoke on the phone Matt and Rebecca talked about how they really connected with lifestyle type imagery over traditional posed engagement photos. So, that’s exactly what we planned.
On a Sunday afternoon, I met them at their townhouse in Columbia for an intimate photo session which included making some winter updates to their garden. We spent the first part of the session planting onions, harvesting one teeny baby carrot, planting rosemary and an abandoned rose that Rebecca lovingly saved from being thrown away. The rest of the session was spent sipping coffee while listening to music, chatting over some of our favorite books, and taking a quick trip to one of their favorite spots downtown for a handful of posed photos “just in case”. This session might just be a top favorite of all time because of how Matt and Rebecca’s relationship was able to shine through in a comfortable environment.
P.S If you’re looking for a different spin on the traditional engagement session. Or if you’re coming up on a big milestone (a new house or an anniversary for instance) and you’d like to document those big life moments with a session. I would LOVE to chat with you about planning one together. I can tell you from experience, you will not regret the tangible reminder of the emotions you’re experiencing right now in this one life you’re living! Let’s make it happen!!!
You can book your own session here!
Thanks SO much for stopping by and for following along!

Just a hop across the water by ferry and you’ll arrive on Daufuskie just off the coast of Hilton Head. The most perfect little getaway for a wedding in the Low-Country (or a quiet vacation). Golf carts will be your main mode of transportation. You can stay in the most quaint little cabin on the marsh or the historic Mansion inside Haig Point. The perfect place to unplug!
Courtney and Chase tied the knot on this sweet little island on the first weekend in October. Some of their dearest friends and family made the trek by boat for a weekend getaway in the Lowcountry. And what a glorious weekend it was!!!

Let’s be honest, Charleston is the place to be if you’re in the mood to be wined and dined.
There are SO many places to choose from and most times you can’t go wrong. But, a favorite so far has been Felix. Possibly one of THE best brunch spots in all of Charleston. Whether you’re looking for creative (and delicious) cocktails (with branded pieces to top them off- all the heart eyes) or one of the most delicious burgers you’ve ever had!
You will absolutely want to add this to your list for your next visit or Sunday brunch!
If I’m being honest, I’m still a little bummed I wasn’t able to sample the yummy cocktails from this shoot. Our little Mav man was worth it, but man oh man, did they look delicious! I’m pretty sure this meal goes down as one of the best brunches I’ve ever had! 1kept, with its cozy atmosphere and signature cocktails, was the perfect setting for a Sunday brunch in downtown Charleston. Here are a few favorites!
