Matt and Rebecca welcomed me into their home in December for their engagement session. When we first spoke on the phone Matt and Rebecca talked about how they really connected with lifestyle type imagery over traditional posed engagement photos. So, that’s exactly what we planned.
On a Sunday afternoon, I met them at their townhouse in Columbia for an intimate photo session which included making some winter updates to their garden. We spent the first part of the session planting onions, harvesting one teeny baby carrot, planting rosemary and an abandoned rose that Rebecca lovingly saved from being thrown away. The rest of the session was spent sipping coffee while listening to music, chatting over some of our favorite books, and taking a quick trip to one of their favorite spots downtown for a handful of posed photos “just in case”. This session might just be a top favorite of all time because of how Matt and Rebecca’s relationship was able to shine through in a comfortable environment.
P.S If you’re looking for a different spin on the traditional engagement session. Or if you’re coming up on a big milestone (a new house or an anniversary for instance) and you’d like to document those big life moments with a session. I would LOVE to chat with you about planning one together. I can tell you from experience, you will not regret the tangible reminder of the emotions you’re experiencing right now in this one life you’re living! Let’s make it happen!!!
You can book your own session here!
Thanks SO much for stopping by and for following along!

Brandy has been my “go to” model for the last few years and has always been the sweetest to work with. All of our editorial shoots have lined up seamlessly with her real wedding! Over the last several months I’ve been so honored to get the chance to know Brandy and Joe as a couple.
In a music filled atmosphere, on a rainy Sunday afternoon, we created these images together and I’m thrilled to share them with you just TWO days before their wedding this weekend! Joe and Brandy, I hope your marriage is filled with every bit of joy you can imagine, lots of forgiveness in the hard times, and a lifetime of holding each other just like this.
“To every thing there is a season” Ecclesiastes 3:1
This verse is the background on my phone, and has been for the past 6 months or so. It’s a reminder that there’s a time for planting, a time for harvesting, a time for drawing in, a time for reflection. To me, spring is a time of refinement, a time for planting good seeds and dreaming big for the seasons ahead…
First, thanks for stopping in! It means so much that you decided to spend a moment of your busy day here with me! I’ll keep it short and sweet for now.
The years leading up to today haven’t been a perfectly smooth path. They’ve been a little twisty with a few bumps in the road and lots of throwing things at the wall until something sticks. I’ve started over more than a few times (who doesn’t love new beginnings?). I’ve been in a season of waiting, in a winter that has felt a little too long for comfort. But spring is here!!! The first day to be exact!!!
So what better time for a fresh start than the first day of Spring? When deciding when to bring this new, refinished brand to life, I couldn’t think of a better time.
Here’s a little of what you can expect going forward…
